The Team Behind the Scenes
From the start PrōKo has been designed to showcase our incredible consultants, not the people behind the scenes. Still, sometimes people want to know who is running the business.
Liz Steblay -- Founder & Managing Officer
Liz founded PrōKo Consulting in April 2009 based on workplace trends and her own consulting experiences, particularly the challenges of being an independent consultant working with Fortune 500 clients. The idea of PrōKo’s unique business model was planted when Liz helped a client to implement a vendor compliance system and process with a contingent workforce management company. (“Parachuted behind enemy lines” is how Liz tells the story.)
Over the last 20 years Liz has worked as an external consultant with a global “big four” consulting firm, as a member of a boutique consulting firm, as an internal consultant, and as an independent consultant. She has personally consulted with nearly all aspects of a business including marketing, IT, procurement, sales operations, HR, finance and accounting.
Prior to launching PrōKo, Liz was an independent consultant for over ten years working on a variety of projects for Fortune 500 companies such as Franklin Templeton Investments, NetApp, Clorox, Invisalign and Kyphon/Medtronic. Before that she was with Intuit, Levi Strauss & Co, and PwC Consulting specializing in organizational development and leading large-scale change programs. She has both a Bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
Born and raised in Southern California, Liz now lives in San Francisco with her teenage daughter, two cats and an 8-year-old goldfish. When not working she enjoys travelling, golfing, skiing, flying and riding her red Ducati motorcycle.
Henry Telfeian -- General Counsel
Henry brings over 35 years of legal expertise to PrōKo Consulting, with particularly deep experience in labor and employment law. As General Counsel he ensures that PrōKo’s contracting process is watertight, thereby mitigating co-employment risk for PrōKo’s clients and allowing PrōKo’s consultants to remain independent.
Before joining PrōKo Henry was Labor Relations Counsel at Kindred Healthcare for seven years. Prior to that he had his own law practice, was Of Counsel at Keck, Mahin & Cate in San Francisco, and a Partner at McLaughlin & Irvin. He is an alumnus of Brown University and Harvard Law School.
After growing up in Maine, Henry now splits his time between San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. For him, practicing law is a means to an end – he’d much rather be playing golf, watching golf or reading about golf. Occasionally he finds time for flying and skiing too.
Becky Tredway -- Accounting, Tax & Treasury
Becky is truly the wizard behind the curtain, managing all things finance-related quietly and efficiently in the background so PrōKo consultants can focus on what they do best: working with clients to develop and implement solutions. A registered C.P.A., she especially enjoys working with small businesses and helping them grow to become much larger.
Rebecca brings more than 25 years of accounting and finance experience to PrōKo. She most recently served as the COO/ CFO at MINE Innovation Engineering, another high-growth business. Earlier in her career she held various roles in finance at companies including Autodesk, Turner Broadcasting and the Walt Disney Company. She began her career in the Entrepreneurial Services Group at Ernst & Young.
Originally from America’s heartland, Rebecca now lives in La Jolla, California with her husband and two rescued beagles. Outside of work she enjoys the outdoors, experimenting in the kitchen, and volunteering with animal rescue organizations specializing in older animals.
Vicki Claude – HR and Administration
Vicki leverages her over 25 years in Human Resources to manage PrōKo’s consultant vetting process and on-boarding. Married to a “rock star consultant” she understands the skills and characteristics needed to truly qualify as a top-tier consultant. She also brings much needed organization to PrōKo’s growing administrative needs.
A long-time lighthouse aficionado, Vicki lives on Whidbey Island in Washington’s Puget Sound. Although she doesn’t live in an actual lighthouse, she does volunteer at one on Whidbey Island. She also enjoys drag-racing and classic car shows with her husband.
Randy Rhody – Webmaster
After a fruitful career in systems engineering with large firms like Lockheed Missiles and Space Company, Randy stepped into a less stressful life of designing and creating websites for small businesses. For PrōKo he worked with the company’s initial branding consultant to implement her custom design. As technology keeps evolving, over the years he’s had to tweak almost every aspect of PrōKo’s website and there is always more to do.
